Objectives

Export Food Sudoe project aims at facilitating partnership between food industry companies of the south west European territories in order to initiate and enhance international market access procedures. The program is open to companies located in Portugal, Spain and south west territories of France.

Partnerships may take different forms an include different inputs: information, sharing of experience and good practices in manufacturing, marketing and export, joint participation in business trade fairs or B2B meetings ; commercial synergies, contacts and network sharing, corporate sponsorship or common offers…

The program lasts 2 years (from July 2016 to June 2018).

Actions

Export Food Sudoe consists in several operational actions to facilitate direct contacts between companies, in order to create business flows between partners and implement commercial strategies to prospect in common on third markets.

The program will implement, several actions :

  • Workshops and trainings on specific topics with specialized consultants.
  • Definition of business and export strategic plans to identify the needs and expectations of the companies, and assess the maturity of their projects.
  • Tailor-made support following companies ‘specific needs.
  • B2B meetings between French, Spanish and Portuguese companies. 3 to 5 B2B meetings will be organized during the program. Meetings will take place in the regions of the partners: Lisbon in Portugal, Sevilla in Spain, Gers and Limoges in France, and Asturies in Spain. These transnational B2B meetings are an opportunity for the participants to know each other and build together a common international strategy on targeted markets. Besides, it will also include benchmarking visits of companies and the organization of local fairs with buyers and local distributors…
  • International trade fairs and exploration missions.

Export consortiums will be given the possibility to participate in international agrofood trade fairs, as well as business missions, in line with their needs and expectations.

Export Food Sudoe  concerne les entreprises de production agroalimentaire situées en Espagne, au Portugal et au Sud de la France (anciennes Régions Aquitaine, Midi-Pyrénées, Languedoc-Roussillon, Auvergne, Limousin, Poitou-Charentes). Le projet s’adresse principalement à des PME et TPE avec ou sans expérience à l’international (primo-exportateurs, exportateurs confirmés), désireuses à initier ou à développer une activité d’export.

Les entreprises motivées et intéressées par de nouvelles initiatives et collaborations sont les bienvenues !

Une phase de prospection et recrutement des entreprises est prévue au début du projet. Les partenaires feront la sélection finale des entreprises sur la base de critères pertinents et transparents.

Le projet s’adresse également aux opérateurs du secteur tels que les importateurs, distributeurs, négociants et organisations professionnelles.

Expected results

Il est attendu que le projet Export Food Sudoe mette en place des actions utiles pour au moins 100 entreprises situées dans l’espace Sud-Ouest Européen, notamment dans les régions des partenaires.

Ces entreprises participeront aux activités d’information, de formation et de conseil pour l’amélioration de leur positionnement international, y compris l’élaboration de leurs plans stratégiques d’internationalisation. Les résultats de cette démarche seront plus pertinents dans le cas des entreprises disposant d’un potentiel et d’une volonté d’intégration à des initiatives de coopération entre entreprises.

Il est envisagé qu’au moins 50 sociétés, puissent être en mesure d’explorer l’opportunité de la création de partenariats d’exportation.

L’objectif final est de constituer au moins 5 partenariats d’exportation, avec la participation d’au moins 20 entreprises françaises, espagnoles et portugaises.

The Interreg SUDOE programme

The programme of the European South west territorial cooperation supports regional development in co-financing transnational cooperation projects through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

The eligible region of the SUDOE programme includes Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar (UK), the French regions of Nouvelle Aquitaine, Occitanie and Auvergne.

Public partners from Spain, France, Portugal and the United Kingdom (Gibraltar) may contribute to the growth and sustainable development of the Southwest European territory, by developing transnational cooperation in innovation, environment, new information technologies and a sustainable urban development.

By working together, these regional actors will contribute to reach the European strategies in terms of growth, employment and sustainable development.

After carrying out an analysis of the Southwest Europe regarding its demography, socioeconomic and environmental characteristics,  the main goal was to develop a strategy to reinforce its strengths and to correct its weaknesses, to consolidate Southwest European territory as a cooperation space in competitiveness, innovation, environment, sustainable development and land-planning, which will contribute to guarantee  a harmonious and balanced integration of its  regions in line with the social and economic cohesion goals of the European Union.

This new generation of the SUDOE programme 2014-2020 is part of the European territorial cooperation goal co-financed by structural funds for the 2014-2020 period.

The operational program was developed by the four Member States (Spain, France, Portugal and UK – Gibraltar).

The Southwest European space covers an area of 770120 km2, which represents 18, 2 % total area of the European Union (27 countries). With a population of 61.3 million inhabitants, which represent 12, 4 % of the total population of the European union (27).
